RSL Exceeds Revenue Target by 3%

Revenue Services Lesotho (RSL) has exceeded its set revenue target for the 2024/2025 financial year. The Commissioner General of RSL, Mrs. Mathabo Mokoko, announced today that the institution has successfully remitted M9.74 billion to the Government against a target of M9.48 billion, recording a positive variance of M261.19 million (3%). She stated that this performance represents an 11% increase compared to the previous financial year (2023/24), demonstrating a significant improvement in tax collection.

Breakdown of Overall Performance

Income Tax Performance

  • Annual target: M4.93 billion

  • Remittances: M5.25 billion

  • Exceeded target by M325.89 million (6.6%)

VAT Performance

  • Annual target: M4.35 billion

  • Remittances: M4.3 billion

  • Missed target by M49.64 million (1.1%)

Tobacco & Alcohol Products Levy

  • Annual target: M168.45 million

  • Remittances: M160.80 million

  • Missed target by M7.65 million (4.5%)

Gaming Levy

  • Annual target: M7.13 million

  • Remittances: M16.40 million

  • Exceeded target by M9.27 million (130%)
